Much has happened since my last post. Yet this is what drives me back to the blog. We went to South Carolina in late October to visit the ocean, and I passed up an opportunity to partake in a footlong one of these:

Over the weekend I remembered my missed opportunity and figured I'd set things right by picking some up at the supermarket. I went the day after Thanksgiving and found... that there were none. Was there a Thanksgiving rush on the things? Did they have some weird black Friday special on them? I went home frustrated with inexplicable foods I picked up while hunting for the elusive corndogs. A couple of days later I walked past a different supermarket and decided to look there. Nothing. The same thing happened on a third trip. I found some vegetarian monstrosity that called itself a corndog and some of those sausages in pancakey corndog clothing. Seriously, what is going on here? Do corndogs go out of season? Was there some kind of "made in China" corndog recall? Or am I in a dumb dream, a Twilight Zone episode or Encyclopedia Brown novel where all the corndogs went away and no one noticed except for me? This is killing me. I just want a bloody corndog here.
